Under Armour hires former VF exec as president, COO

Baltimore-based sportswear company Under Armour announced that it has named former Greensboro-based VF Corp. executive Patrik Frisk as the company’s new president and chief operating officer on July 10.

Frisk previously served as CEO of the Aldo Group, a global footwear and accessories company. Amazon will have billions in cash left over after writing Whole Foods check

Amazon.com Inc. has about $7.8 billion left in its war chest after subtracting the $13.7 billion needed to buy Whole Foods Market Inc.

That’s according to Amazon’s reported first-quarter cash and equivalents. Amazon’s cash on hand hasn’t dipped that low since the third quarter in 2014, when the company reported $6.9 billion in cash on hand.

Under Armour bringing on new president, Plank to stay on as CEO

Under Armour founder Kevin Plank will step back from his role as president of the company, the Baltimore-based sportswear maker announced Tuesday morning, while staying on as CEO and chairman.

Patrik Frisk will become the company’s new president and chief operating officer on July 10, the company said in a release.
